Hello...My Houston Federal Friends

I had to go to the United States Attorney's Office located in Houston, Texas early this week with a client. I had forgotten how many former Harris County, Texas prosecutors have gone to work for the United States Attorney's office since I left the District Attorney's office many years ago. I came across a half dozen lawyers that I have worked with or against over the last ten years during my ten minute wait in the lobby. It seems like there are few roads a Houston prosecutor travels after they leave the office, some, like me, become criminal defense lawyers. Others, go to the United States Attorney's office. A few go into civil practice. While there are some that stay at the office that is definitely not the norm. Ultimately, every person has to decide what is best for them in the long run. I can only hope that my colleagues enjoy their career choice as much as I do.
