Bruno, you are still cool with me...
Growing up with MTV I have always enjoyed watching a good music video. I hate to sound like a nostalgic type of guy, but they sure do not make videos like they use to anymore. In fact, how often are videos even played on MTV or VH1 anymore. It sure is not part of their regular programming. One of the best videos that I have seen in a few years is Bruno Mars' "Just the way you are." It truly captures the essence of the original music videos that aired when I was growing up. The video seems original, fresh and showcases his talent. Of course, it is a great song on its own. I am confident that he will be picking up a few "Moon Men" along the way.
Sadly, Mr. Mars was arrested this month in Las Vegas for possession of cocaine charges after he performed at the Hard Rock Hotel. Like in Texas, this type of charge is a felony. However, the range of punishment is quite different. In Nevada, a person having more than two grams of cocaine will be facing up to five years in prison and a fine up to $5,000. In Texas, this is a third degree charge where he would be facing up to ten years in prison and a fine up to $10,000.
Here is hoping that everything ends up well for Mr. Mars. He seems to be extremely talented. He has topped the charts as a solo artist and a producer. You may remember him from his debut in the movie Honeymoon in Vegas where he played the character "Little Elvis." Despite this bump in the road I still expect big things from him in the future.
