Yeah...The Tunnel Is Open Again
As I was driving to work today with the rain and wind swirling throughout the Houston area I was cautiously optimistic that the tunnel from the Harris County Parking Garage to the Harris County Criminal Courthouse would be re-opened as scheduled. I packed my raincoat, umbrella and was ready to deal with the bad weather even after returning from a vacation where there was pure blue skies and 80 degree temps. The reason for my apprehension about whether it would actually be open today was because it was scheduled to be opened last month so I suspected there may be another delay. In fact, a friend texted me on my way to work to let me know that the tunnel was in fact open. There had been a lot of complaints that the tunnel was closed during the winter, the worst time to be walking the downtown streets of Houston, but that is only because we are spoiled. My briefcase will be much lighter now that I can stop packing an umbrella and raincoat to go to work.
