One Of The Old School Criminal Lawyers Passes

I received the sad news today that Raford Carter, one of the most memorable Harris County, Texas Criminal Lawyers passed away . Sadly, his death was not a surprise. Mr. Carter was confined to a wheelchair for the past year or so. He seemed very sick during this time. Nevertheless, he continued to represent clients despite lacking his legendary cantankerous nature. Mr. Carter used his demeanor to his advantage. He would annoy most prosecutors with his off the wall statements and incendiary comments. He was routinely boisterous in the courtroom causing prosecutors to avoid him. His clients seemed to enjoy his antics. It was always humorous to see a new prosecutor come into contact with him. The junior ADA would not know whether to take him seriously or not. In the end, he used this style to find a fair resolution for his clients. Whether fellow attorneys loved, liked, or hated Raford Carter he will not forgotten any time soon.
