What Is Going On With My Google Places Account?
I was recently notified by one of my former clients that was trying to review my law firm on Google that my Google Places listing was not available. Once I further researched why my listing was not able to be found on their Map I noticed that it was even worse that I thought. To my complete surprise Google was listing my business as closed. That is absolutely not the case! After researching this issue I noticed that this was happening without notice to businesses all over the country. You can read a New York Times addressing this issue by clicking here. Worse of all anyone can merely click on the listing and claim that the business is closed. The cynic in me started to think that this was done by an unscrupulous person/company. Why would someone do such a thing? Google has responded notifing me that they are in the process of resolving the issue within their system. Curiously, someone, not me went out of their way to have Google "Permanently Closed" on their own map to prove a point.
